Sitting here witnessing a shoeshiner getting screamed at by a guy cause he isn’t fast enough.Though I do not support verbal or any kind of abuse on anyone, shoe-shiners are very hard workers and they do what they do from their hearts. They could just do a quick brush but they do it thoroughly and get paid the same amount of money, that is my experience. They provide a quick and quality service, to a level I, personally, could never match. And still, I see people degrading them thinking that shoe-shiners and people in service-related industries are somehow “second-class” because of their work. People who work hard are first class in my book. These people are not servants or slaves, they are industrious and free people who are working hard to make a living. Let’s at least be nice to them, or anyone for that matter.
